We have been offered an exclusive private tour of the Museum of Bath Stone (currently closed to the public).  The museum was established to ensure the history and significance of Ralph Allen’s famous stone mines (including the massive recent project to stabilise the former workings) is fully presented to both Bath residents and visitors.  Whilst the museum is in Combe Down all of the stone was brought down to the river through Widcombe via “Ralph Allen’s Railway” and a fair proportion of it stayed here to construct our elegant Georgian buildings.

As the museum is relatively small places are limited to 15 people.
