John’s walled garden is packed with lots of features, including sweeping mixed borders, a greenhouse, summerhouse, vegetable plot, pond and several seating areas to enjoy the lovely views over the Box Valley to Colerne. The garden has been created on a budget over the years, most of it being spent on plants.
John will give a brief talk on the garden’s development, care, maintenance and labour saving elements, giving ample time for folk to sit, enjoy the surroundings and of course enjoy the tea & cakes included in the ticket price. Visitors often comment on how refreshing it is to see a small, fairly modest garden from which they can take ideas back to their own gardens.
Many of you will know John from his incredibly entertaining and informative talks for the Widcombe Association and we are sure that this will be a very enjoyable afternoon trip.
