Boundary Walk – Saturday 12 July – POSTPONED

Given the weather forecast for Saturday, 12 July for very high temperatures, it has been decided to postpone the boundary walk. Those who have paid for this event will be re-imbursed.

La Traviata – Friday 18 July – Prior Park College

There are still some tickets left for this performance of Verdi’s beautiful opera in a lovely setting with facilities for a picnic in the grounds and a bar available!

Go Green Widcombe Sustainability Talk – Wednesday 10 September - 7pm to 9pm – Widcombe Social Club

Coordinated by Go Green Widcombe and Bath & West Community Energy, the event will feature case studies of the use of heat pumps, as well as a talk by Sally Richards (B&NES Council) explaining the Council’s view on the benefits of their use in helping households to switch from gas to electricity. 2. ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR UPDATE

Many of you will have noticed that the bench by the plane tree at the western end of Widcombe Parade has been removed. It had become a meeting point for people living on the street who had been exhibiting anti-social behaviour, often under the influence of drink or drugs. Complaints had been made to the Police and the Council. The bench has been removed for an initial period of six months as part of attempts to mitigate the problem. The early signs are that the removal has resulted in significantly less bad behaviour and harassment of residents. An assessment will be made towards the end of the six-month period on whether or not to put the bench back in place.
