Opera - Friday 18 July - Prior Park College

Bath Opera will be performing in Widcombe again this year. They will be performing Verdi’s La Traviata on the evening of 18 July at the Prior Park School Theatre. As usual, there will be a bar with sparkling wine, and you will be able to have a picnic in the grounds before the performance. Tickets are due to go on sale shortly on the WA Events website.

Widcombe Bake-off and Feast - Saturday 5 July - Widcombe Social Club

The Great Widcombe Bake Off and Feast, being promoted jointly by the WSC and the WA, will be held at Widcombe Social Club on 5 July and judged by the renowned Richard Bertinet. The delicious food entered for the Bake Off will form the basis of a three-course feast in the evening followed by music and dancing with Junction 18. Tickets and details on how to enter or attend will be available shortly on the WA Events and WSC websites.

Fundraising for St Matthew's: Concert - Saturday 10 May - St Matthew's Church

Raise the Roof! The Bath Operatic and Dramatic Society are holding a concert in St Matthew's Church on Saturday 10 May at 7.30pm. This will be a one-off musical spectacular celebrating musicals past, present and, we are told, future. Proceeds from the concert will be divided between the Society and the St. Matthew's Church Roof Fund. This is not a WA event and tickets are available through the following link:

Thought is already being given to the organisation of our wonderful Christmas Market, and help is needed! Please consider joining an enthusiastic team dedicated to making this event our best ever! If you are available to contribute, contact the secretary at [email protected]

3. ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

We are again experiencing anti-social behaviour in and around Widcombe Parade and the canal basins. As you may be aware, these areas are covered by a Public Spaces Protection Order. Actions are being taken to reduce the nuisance but, if you witness any such disorder, you are encouraged to contact the Police by dialling 999 if it is a live incident or 101 if it is not. Non-live incidents can also be reported on the Avon and Somerset Police website which may be quicker. The police are more likely respond when complaints mount up.
